There are a number of companies who’ve created usable Browsers and Email programs that are worth looking at. Microsoft Explorer 9 is currently the most heavily used internet browser buy many of you have found Mozilla’s Firefox browser and Thunderbird email application fit your needs to a T. If you’re using a Mac you’re probably a died in the wool user of Safari. Mention should be made of other browsers that are currently in use, Opera, SeaMonkey, Camino, Mozilla, Google’s Chrome are all current candidates for users.

If you choose to download and use any of the these, you can still use Internet Explorer. Using one does not limit the use of the other.
In addition to the updated Browsers, there are many E-mail programs designed to replace Outlook Express. A simple search using “E-mail” will give you an idea of the magnitude of possibilities. Eudora and Pegasus are 2 of the more popular alternatives. It should also be noted that the Foxfire has a client E-mail application that must be downloaded separately called Thunderbird.

This is not a suggestion that you go out and replace your current Browser program, but we want you to keep informed as new information becomes available.

Please remember to keep your anti-virus up to date, and if you don’t have an active antivirus program, get one, and run it. Avast, seems to be an anti virus program growing in popularity and simplicity of use. Another nice feature___ it’s free to the home user.
